
The Louvre is the most famous museum and the largest Parisian building.
During six centuries, it was also the dwelling of the French royal family, each king doing his best to embellish and extend it Soon after the Revolution, in the year 1793, the Central Museum opened in the Great Galery and in the Square Lounge. Progressively, the museum extended, and numerous collections soon found their place in the building.
Today the Louvre museum houses some of the world's; most famous pieces of art.
