
The Triumphal Arch : The gigantic arch standing at the center was designed by architect Chalgrin on Napoleon's demand.
Decoration and scuptural reliefs were dedicated to his imperial campaigns.
It is over 160 feet high, and almost as wide.
Underneath the arch lies the tomb of France's Unknown Soldier.
And since 1920 its eternal flame has been rekindled every evening.
